About me

I'm Jason Roell, Head of Engineering at Vurvey in Cincinnati, Ohio.

I started this blog in December 2014 as an enterprise software developer with a growing curiosity about AI, and especially deep learning. Eleven years later that curiosity is my day job: I lead the team building Vurvey's AI platform, and I spend a lot of my own time building tools for AI agents and the developers who work with them.

I write here about AI engineering, software architecture, developer tools, and what I have learned leading engineering teams. Some posts are tutorials, some are opinions I have changed my mind about since, and a few are about quantum computing because I could not help myself.

When I build something worth sharing, it goes on the projects page. A few of those projects run right here on this site.

I still like candlelight dinners and long walks on the beach. Very long walks. Lots of people say they like long walks on the beach, but then they get out on the beach and after just an hour or two, they say they're getting tired.
